Please be informed that there will be a temporary adjustment to the collection and transfer of bodies for cremation under the HKU Body Donation Programme from 1 June to 13 July 2026.
This arrangement is to facilitate essential improvement works in our storage facility (the Coffin Room) located on the G/F. As the construction will affect the movement within the premises, we will temporarily pause the receipt of new donations, as well as the collection of bodies for funeral services or transfer to the crematorium during this period.
We wish to reassure you that all necessary arrangements have already been made for existing donors to ensure they remain unaffected. Our team is working closely with the contractors to ensure the improvements are completed as swiftly as possible to minimise disruption to families.
Please be assured that the Programme remains fully operational in all other aspects. Our office continues to function as usual, and all educational and outreach activities will proceed as scheduled.
